Sea Island Visitors Guide

Located 85 miles from Savannah, Sea Island is known as a resort area for those with discriminating taste. The 1,235 acre island has a variety of activities to pursue. From water like sea kayaking, beach fun cycles, sailboats, and boogie boards to drier adventures like horseback riding, clay target shooting, biking tours, hay wagon rides, tennis and shelling trips.

It is home to The Cloisters which was the host of the G8 Summit in 2004. The Cloisters has won awards from Conde Nast Traveler, Travel & Leisure, Golf Digest, Golf Magazine, Town & Country and others. This elite hotel has not overlooked children. Especially for the young are activities like playtime & children’s dinners, ping-pong, air hockey and other games as well as activities like bowling, movies and outings for the teens.

Sea Island has some additional accommodations—the Lodge at Sea Island, rental cottages and assorted travel packages are available. For money saving prices consider travelling from January to March when prices are lower.

While exploring coastal Georgia make sure to visit other destinations as well.
