Enota Campground

Enota is the best family campground in the North Georgia Mountains. There may be other campgrounds that are better for adults, but when it comes to family fun in the mountains Enota is tough to beat.

The Enota campground, near Brasstown Bald, has dozens of camping spots for families, a couple dozen more for adults only, and plenty of great RV spots for those that like to camp in comfort. There's a large playground area with three trampolines, swings, slides, and a volleyball area next to a large field for other sports that make help to make this place loads of fun for the kids.

Of course there's no reason to stop at the play area because the kids also love the hiking trails and waterfalls as well as the farm where they can milk a cow and pet a goat. There's also fishing in the trout pond where kids and adults alike can catch large and tasty trout.

On weekend nights the family can hang out at the lodge and listen to live music. Or if you are musically inclined you can even join in and play too.

Enota is not the type of campground you'll enjoy if you like quiet and seclusion when camping. You'll probably find your campsite next to others that may or may not be "peaceful.". If you like to turn in early you'll be disappointed as well because the campground is usually noisy past the 10:00 quiet time and it's not uncommon for cars to ride through the campground at odd hours of the night. But even with these few cons the pros well outweigh making this the perfect family campground in Georgia.

Tips: The best family campsite is number 35 in the C5 area.
Make sure to visit Brasstown Bald (turn left onto 180 and then right at Brasstown. Three miles up and you're on the top of Georgia.
