Ellijay, Georgia Visitors Guide

Located in Gilmer County, Ellijay is a quiet North Georgia mountain town known most especially for it fall color and its convenience to the Appalachian Mountains. Special events and area attractions include:

• The Cherry Log Pickin’ where guests can enjoy music by area musicians along with food, fun and local artwork.


• The "Apple Pickin' Jubilee" is held in October on the farm at Hillcrest Orchards and offers many fun activities such as U-Pick apples, wagon rides, cow milking, live pig races and a Farmhouse and Moonshine Museum.


• There are 11 mountain trails to be explore, 59 trails for  biking and 15 trails for horseback riding


• Nearby are Carters Lake Recreation Area, Amicalola Falls State Park, and the Fort Mountain State Park.


• Ellijay is the current home of Winder native Mark Harwell.
